Established in 1981, Progressive Dance Studio (PDS) is one of Bergen County’s oldest and most respected dance studios. Although Progressive Dance was originally founded as a ballet studio, over the years it has steadily grown and now offers classes in all the major forms of dance, including: ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, musical theater, hip hop, and funk jazz. Our Creative Tots and Creative Movement programs for 3, 4, and 5 year olds are acclaimed as state-of-the-art beginning dance classes. In our efforts to constantly improve the studio, we recently added acting classes as well.

In addition to Progressive’s strong dance curriculum, our faculty is also a high point. The majority of Progressive’s faculty members currently teach at some of New York City’s premier Dance Schools, such as Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center, and Studio Maestro. PDS’s infusion of outstanding dance teachers from New York provides an atmosphere of learning, inspiration, and excitement for our students.

With nearly 25 years of teaching experience, we instinctively know how to provide a rewarding experience for dancers of all ages, and we invite anyone who wants to learn to dance to come try us. At Progressive, we focus on providing a solid foundation in dance education, and we do not rely on fads or gimmicks. Our reputation is based on a first-rate faculty and staff. We make it abundantly clear that we love what we do, and our level of customer service is unsurpassed and enjoyed by all who pass through our doors.
